My eyesight may be pretty rubbish, but God gave me a cracking sense of smell - I love cologne and probably rotate between 6 - 8 at any one time. Taking the time to hunt down interesting fragrances that few people have is a good habit too. I tend to find the most interesting fragrances when I travel, as there're many obscure perfumeries in Europe whose products never make it to Australia.
Some of my current favourites: Jo Malone Dark Amber and Ginger Lily is a great unisex fragrance which I picked up in Cannes, France when I was there earlier this year. One smell and I was hooked. Dior Homme Intense is one I've worn for years - I call it "lady killer". Histoires de Parfums 1969 I picked up at Pitti Uomo in Florence this year. It's another unisex fragrance and one I'm yet to find here in Australia. Subtle and sweet but still masculine.
Other fragrances which I wear are Comme Des Garçons 2, Bottega Venetta Pour Homme and Givenchy Gentleman Only. They're good everyday splash-and-dash men's fragrances which don't necessarily need to be savoured for special occasions.
I've recently taken to blindly buying some fragrances online. I don't recommend this as I'm currently 0/5 in terms of winners & losers.
About: "I run a website called D'Marge. It's a men's style blog which has quickly become one of the biggest in Australia. We have over 200,000 monthly readers. I spend most of my days sourcing and curating interesting content and products from around the world that I think Australian men should know about. Hence why I probably know too much about fragrances."
